Santana

by JuliaAtCavalia @ Tuesday, Jun. 19, 2007 - 22:38:38

My dear friend Sasha got me Carlos Santana's Supernatural disk. The cover is so beautiful, and the CD itself has such a pretty, festive design. So, start with my favorite Santana Song...
Smooth with Rob Thomas:

Santana - Smooth Lyrics

(featuring Rob Thomas, who used to be in Tabitha's Secret, Matchbox Twenty, and The Wraith)
Man it's a hot one
Like seven inches from the midday sun
I hear you whisper and the words melt everyone
But you stay so cool
My munequita, my Spanish Harlem Mona Lisa
Your my reason for reason
The step in my groove
And if you say this life ain't good enough
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
Cause you're so smooth
And just like the ocean under the moon
Well that's the same emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin that can be so smooth
Gimme your heart, make it real
Or else forget about it
I'll tell you one thing
If you would leave it would be a crying shame
In every breath and every word
I hear your name calling me out
Out from the barrio, you hear my rhythm from your radio
You feel the turning of the world so soft and slow
Turning you round and round

Love of my Life

Santana - Love Of My Life Lyrics

(featuring Dave Matthews)
Where you are, that's where I wanna be
And through your eyes, all the things I wanna see
And in the night, you are my dream
You're everything to me
You're the love of my life
And the breath in my prayers
Take my hand, lead me there
I can't forget the taste of your mouth
>From your lips the heavens pour out
I can't forget when we are one
With you alone I am free
Everyday, every night, you alone
You're the love of my life
Everyday, every night, you alone,
You're the love of my life
We go dancing in the moonlight
With the starlight in your eyes
We go dancing till the sunrise
You and me we're gonna dance, dance, dance

Maria Maria

Santana - Maria Maria Lyrics

(featuring The Product G&B)
Maria Maria
She reminds me of a west side story
Growing up in Spanish Harlem
She's living the life just like a movie star
Maria Maria
She fell in love in East L.A.
To the sounds of the guitar, yeah, yeah
Played by Carlos Santana
Stop the looting, stop the shooting
Pick pocking on the corner
See as the rich is getting richer
The poor is getting poorer
Se mira Maria on the corner
Thinking of ways to make it better
In my mailbox there's an eviction letter
Somebody just said see you later
Ahora vengo mama chola mama chola
Ahora vengo mama chola
Ahora vengo mama chola mama chola
Ahora vengo mama chola
I said a la favella los colores
The streets are getting hotter
There is no water to put out the fire
Mi canto la esperanza
Se mira Maria on the corner
Thinking of ways to make it better
Then I looked up in the sky
Hoping of days of paradise
Ahora vengo mama chola mama chola
Ahora vengo mama chola
Maria you know you're my lover
When the wind blows I can feel you
Through the weather and even when we're apart
It feels like we're together

SWEET FREEDOM

by JuliaAtCavalia @ Tuesday, Jun. 19, 2007 - 19:07:08

I AM FREE. I AM FREE. I AM FREE. I AM FREE. I AM DONE WITH MY SENIOR YEAR. I AM AGAIN A FRESHMAN, (IN COLLEGE, THOUGH) YET I AM DONE WITH MY "RESTRICTED" EDUCTAION AND NO LONGER UNDER THE CONTROL OF LAUSD.....
FREEDOM IS SWEET AND JUICY. IT EVEN SMELLS FREE. MMMMMMMMMMMM....
FREEDOM IS GOOD.

I have slaved away for the best results ever. Weighing in APs, I deserve to gloat, I have a 4.5 GPA. (Unweighted, it's 4.0) My parents will be very excited when they found out, as well as my grandchildren.
My calculus final apparently went very well. For Euro, I was also surprised since I only memorized S. America, Europe, and Africa. Geography is so useful, and makes one feel satisfied, no? The memory is a great thing unless it diffuses fact. Abreu loved my ballad about what my great-grandfather did during WWII. I included photos:-)
This morning, I gave my Advertizing final, a sales pitch, which was supposed to be an impossible 5-10 minutes long. I think mine went very successfully, even though the service I was chosen to advertise (Kitchen Design, was a boring one...

Tomorrow morning, I'm sleeping in; I have vowed to sleep not only for my own gratification, but for all of my friends and acquaintances who still have finals tomorrow.

I signed HIS ♥ yearbook, and he mine. It was the most glorious end-of-semester I could have hoped for. With my graduation/pre bday party written about yesterday, my grades, my freedom, I think it's time for a dance.

Now a little fun clip from a celentano film. Please note that I have more self-control in expressing my freedom than the lady featured here:

Black Eyed Peas. They rhyme any words that have the same endings or sound, regardless of relevance or necessity, but they are so great to move your body.
DID I MENTION THAT I AM FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE?

EyeSeeYou

by JuliaAtCavalia @ Friday, Jun. 15, 2007 - 18:10:04

Happy Friday everyone. I should say T.G.I.F!
had my last day of detention today. Sophia made sure I had all the appropriate accessories to perform well for my final day of paper-cleanup...She drew me a 3rd Eye with markers on my forhead....(At the begining of the school year, during a boring day, I took a post-it and drew an eye on it, and stuck it to my forehead for the entire day.) It definitely made me look 3 times more intellegent.

We decided to make sure that the people I was cleaning up for also got to experience some of my genius...
They, unfortunately, had a hard time absorbing it, obviously brainwashed into thinking that Zeus's triclopses were not sensible. Well, my mission is to increase awareness about triclopses and fight for military-benefits and old-age-pensions for these rare, misunderstood citizens who are forced to hide out beneath Mt. Olympus with their enemies, the cyclopses.

For a bit of trivia, there is a neighborhood less than a mile away from my home that is called Mt. Olymus.
(It's at the foot of Laurel Cyn.)

One girl had tremendous pity for me, because she thought that I'd fallen asleep in class and somebody had graffitied on my skin. I think that even sleeping beauty would feel if someone was marking up her physiognomy with smelly (scented), inky markers.
She asked me what was on my forhead...I confidently told her that I look perfect every single day and amazed Ms. Universe last spring with my fair, flawless complection. How dare she say that I had something strange on my face????
Readers, I strongly suggest you create yourselves third eyes and march around with them, because they can be a real pick-me-up...
And girls, it is even easier to bat your eyes and any stud if you've got three. It is an incredibly successful way of captivating, and intriguing an audience....

Now for a bit of Smokie: I'll Meet You At Midnight!

A summer evening on Les Champs Elyses
A secret rendezvous they planned for days.
A sea of faces in a crowded cafe,
A sound of laughter as the music plays.

Jean-Claude was a student at the University,
Louise-Marie is just a world away.
He recalled the night they met was warm with laughter
The words were music as she turned away.

I'll meet you at midnight,
Under the moonlight,
I'll meet you at midnight...
But Jean-Claude, Louise-Marie will never be...

Each cigarette would light a thousand faces,
Each hour that passes seems a thousand years.
Midnight was turning into empty spaces
The sound of laughter disappeared.

I'll meet you at midnight,
Under the moonlight,
I'll meet you at midnight...
Oh, but Jean-Claude, Louise-Marie will never be...

A summer morning on Les Champs Elyses,
The empty table in the street cafe.
The sunlight melting through an open doorway,
Jean-Claude has left to face another day.

I'll meet you at midnight,
Under the moonlight,
I'll meet you at midnight...

I'll meet you at midnight,
Under the moonlight,
I'll meet you at midnight...
Oh, but Jean-Claude, Louise-Marie will never be ...
