  • UK's MUSIC HERO!!!!!

    Wednesday October 31, 2007 03:31 PM

Convicted rapper Snoop Dogg has offered to solve Britain's growing gang problem if his ban on entering the UK is lifted. The singer, who is hosting tomorrow's MTV awards in Munich, Germany, said "men in white wigs" and "laws from the 1800s" are preventing him from tackling the gang issue. He was cautioned for violent disorder and affray at Heathrow Airport last year but is convinced he is the man to solve the UK gang problem.

"I love my fans in the UK, they're really suffering by not letting me in to deal with the gang situation.

" I really wanted to be a voice to stop gang members, 'cause they respect me enough to get into a room with me.

"By not permitting me they're saying they just don't want me to solve this situation.

"It's not the fans, it's just a few people in white wigs and members of parliament. They got a problem because the judicial law is from the 1800s."

Snoop Dog was banned from the UK in March this year because of his drug convictions and he was arrested and cautioned at Heathrow airport on suspicion of violent disorder and affray in 2006.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Scandal!

I tend to google myself once in a while to make sure that what pops up is acceptable--now that I"ve got a blog, random bits pop up on Google, and I want to make sure everything is appropriate...
So there is one girl with my name on a make-your-own-website website, and when you click the name, something about Gucci Purses comes up...
Now, this is absolutely INAPPROPRIATE! I don't have gucci purses, nor did I make a website about them; actually, I don't think I've ever held a gucci purse!
So I find it quite funny...and why not link that page to this one:???
    http://students.depaul.edu/~jtrakhte/

Oh G-d, sometimes, a personals porn site pops up.....I'm not associated with anything on the internet except email, blog.co.uk, various poetry contests, Van Nuys High School, Paul Revere Middle School, Paseo del Rey, Judaism, youtube (one video and none in the near future)and a Jamie 'n Friends picture from iceskating in 6th grade, where I"m the short one in the micky mouse sweater..... at jamis

Also, there is apparently some lady in court with my name who has some bill that everyone on google is welcome to "deny the claims of [name] regarding an article called "Smoking is not permitted in the City Council Chambers"...
I've got nothing to do with the City Council (yet:-) and don't think I"d dedicate myself to stop smoking. Other than hiding my mother's cigarettes in the piano bench and random CD carriers which she would never think of looking, I am in no way affiliated with saving people from their bodies turning into chimneys....
Coincidentally, I've just watched Thank You For Not Smoking; It was enjoyable, though I don't think I'd be able to watch it again. The humor is one-time only....

Ok, don't smoke people.....and especially you, grandkids, for who this blog is written...

  • I love Putumayo, am exploring DelaDap....etc.

LISTEN TO THE MUSIC AND VOICES THEMSELVES:

    :-)

I love the Putumayo disks. My favorite one is Brasileiro, with the Canto Des Tres Racas song but youtube doesn't have any of the songs from that collection. Although, if anyone finds it, please let me know.

  • Red Truck Green Truck One Book Two Book

    EVIDENCE:
So I found my book about the Northern European family: they're from Norway...The translation from Norwegian was made form Anne Katarine Westley's book, before 1962. I know it's before 1962, because the book that I have was published in 1962. It's falling apart, and the pages have yellowed, but the green truck and the red truck are in tip top shape....
Actually, 1962 is not that long ago--this book is 5 years older than my mother, so it's hardly an antique:-) haha

(Above you can see my lovely palm tree Michelle, and my computer screen, and the book of course, and two of my 4 book shelves (basically the South-West corner of my room.)
I appologise for the non-orderly fashion, mixing up the orer of the colors, and posting the back inside cover of the book before the front inside cover...I usually am good about having such items in respective order....
Oh, and the book is called "Father, Mother, Eight Children and Truck", not as I said yesterday "Mother, Father..."
See blog below....and tell me those trucks on my street are not almost a copy of those in my book!

I have such great news about the UK cosulate representatives being "willing to chat" with me any time! Also news about Sweets, Sushi, College, Las Vegas, My mother's boyfriend, My mother's Father-In-Law...massages (not from my My mother's Father-In-Law), worries, Calculus, Conferences, Science Centers, Business, Procrastination, Psychology Papers, USC, being sick, arguements, youtube and the songs that are not there but that I really want to find, and other bits and pieces of my past week which I neglected to write about. So that's all upcoming....haha

  • Red Truck Green Truck

    Red Truck Green Truck

There is a book that I loved from childhood called " Мама, Папа, Восемь Детей и Грузовик", which means "Mother, Father, Eight Kids, and the Truck"...It's a delightful story about a Northern Euoropean Couple who have 8 kids. Each name of the kids starts with an M--Morten, Matrin, Marta..etc...and they have a Green Truck. The father is a driver of their loving, green family truck, but one day, the truck gets stolen...
Martin, Mona, Morten and some other kids set out accross the city to go look for their truck, which of course, they can recognize from the lopsided bumper...but it's red! So in exhaust and sadness, they lean against this red truck, only to discover that the paint is still wet...The car thief confesses and brings the truck back to the Father, who takes him on a business partner...
So regardless of what you might think, it's a lovely book, and it's so funny, and on the cover, is the green truck...and then on the back cover is the red truck...they look identical to these, which belong to some people on the adjacent street to where I live.
I might take a picture of the book cover just to prove it, but I can't find the book right now...Also, I'll update about which country specifically they're in....because the book is a translation from that Northern European language into Russian (I have a suspicion it's Dutch, but I have to make sure)....

  • Rubick's Cube Champions

I thinks this is very exciting, but I wonder how many hours a day these geniuses spend playing with the Rubick's Cube?
I suppose I consider chess a more meaningful game, but nevertheless, the parent's of these people must be gushing with pride:

BUDAPEST (AFP) - Japan's Yu Nakajima won the Rubik's Cube World Championships on Sunday in Budapest, the birthplace of the cult puzzle.

Nakajima averaged 12.46 seconds in arranging the six different colours of the six-sided classic 3x3 cube, which has nine panels on each side to arrange.

He beat Andrew Kang of the United States and Mitsuki Gunji, a fellow Japanese national.

But Frenchman Thibaut Jacquinot still holds the world record of 9.86 seconds in the classic 3x3 event, which he set last May.

Hometown favourite Matyas Kuti, 14, set a world record in the larger 5x5 cube competition with an average time of 1:45:07. Kuti also won in two other categories.

Anssi Vanhala of Finland one the feet-only challenge, aligning the colours of the 3x3 cube in 49.33 seconds.

Nearly 300 participants from 33 countries tried their hands and feet with the multicoloured cube on the 25th anniversary of the the first Rubik's World Championships, which was also held in the Hungarian capital in 1982.

The Rubik's Cube became one of the cult objects of the 1980s and the toy is experiencing a revival these days with millions of cubes sold annually.

More than 300 million cubes have been sold to date and organisers said 12 million will go on the shelves this year alone.

The Rubik's Cube, an invention of Hungarian architect Erno Rubik, has been exhibited at New York's Museum of Modern Art and has entered into the Oxford dictionary.

  • Fortune Teller

    Russian group Fabrika

    Устроены так люди:
    Желают знать, желают знать,
    Желают знать что будет;
    Что сказать, ну что сказать!
    Устроены так люди:
    Желают знать, желают знать,
    Желают знать что будет!

    Счастье в жизни предскажет гаданье,
    И нежданный удар роковой,
    Дом казённый с дорогою дальней,
    И любовь до доски гробовой!
    Карты старые лягут, как веер

    Fortune-Teller (Gadalka)

    Fashion is constantly changing
But as long as the world exists
The Gypsy with an old pack of cards
Will have at least one client...
    Someone longing for bizarre miracles
    Will knock on her door
And she will lay out in front of him
    Those noble kings of hers...

    Refrain:
What can I say? What can I say?
All humans are just like this -
They want to know, want to know
    Want to know the future
What can I say? What can I say?
All humans are just like this -
They want to know, want to know
    Want to know the future

    Card-reading can foretell happiness
Or an unexpected blow of fate
    Imprisonment and a long journey
    Or everlasting faithful love...
Old cards will spread out like a fan
On a shawl decorated with fringe
    And suddenly the Gypsy herself
    Will believe her noble kings...

    Refrain

    Time destroys granite castles
    And covers towns with sand
    But years don't mean anything
For those cards in the Gypsy's hands...
The heart melts as the fortune-teller speaks
And at all the crossroads of the world
The noble kings are telling lies
With the same expression on their faces...

    Refrain
